With over 70 dancers signed up to perform, Afternoon at the Ballet is sure to be a lovely day of classical ballet. This year the show has been split into two separate concerts, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to accommodate our Curtain Call families. Please continue below to find important information for the day of our program.
Show Times and Mandatory Dress Rehearsals

All dancers must attend their assigned day of performance dress rehearsal time slot and arrive in performance attire. With the exception of advanced classes and JR Company, all classes will perform at ONE show.

Show #1 at 11 a.m. – Adv. Ballet and Pointe, JR CO, Intermediate Ballet and Pointe, Pre Pointe and 10 + Ballet classes

9:30 a.m. call , 9:45 a.m. dress rehearsal

Show #2 at 2 p.m. – Adv. Ballet and Pointe, JR CO, Adv. Prep Ballet and 7-9 Ballet classes

12:45 call, 1:00 p.m. dress rehearsal

All dancers will have an assigned dressing space. Please have dancers look for their class name and stay in their dressing space.

All dancers should arrive ready to rehearse in full performance attire, hair and makeup.

Dancers can be dropped off at call time, and will be monitored by teachers, student assistants and parent volunteers.

Dress, Hair and Makeup

All dancers are asked to wear for both dress rehearsal and performance:

Black Leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes.
Ballet bun: high bun at the crown of the head, no bangs or wispies. Dancers with short hair should have hair pulled back from face neatly and pinned at the sides.
Light stage makeup: blush, mascara, touch of color on lips.

7-9 ballet classes will be provided with a red or gold ribbon. This should be tied in a bow around bun, bow at bottom of bun, and secured with bobby pins.

10 + Ballet classes will be provided with a feather headpiece. This should be secured with pins at the right side of their ballet bun.

Pre Pointe will be provided with a feather headpiece. This should be secured with pins at the right side of their ballet bun.

All accessories must be returned.

All Int, Adv. Prep and Adv classes are encouraged to wear their own ballet skirts, hair ribbons, head bands, or hair clips. Additional props or accessories will be discussed in class.

No jewelry. Small stud earrings allowed.

Seating, Tickets and T-shirts

Tickets are on sale today Monday, Feb 5 and are 10$ each.

T-shirts can be pre- ordered at the front desk starting Monday, Feb 5.

Doors open 20 minutes prior to show time.

All audience members must have a ticket.

No parents will be allowed into Studio A prior to save seats or watch dress rehearsal. Dancers can be dropped off at their call time, and parents can return before the show begins.

Shows will last between 45- 60 minutes with no intermission.

We hope that all dancers and parents will stay after the show for an informal tea and snack reception in Studio B.

Your dancers have been hard at work in the classroom each week learning variations from classic ballets and this will be a truly lovely afternoon of ballet, music and dance history. Please invite your friends and family and plan on staying after the show for a tea reception.
